It has been argued that different generations have various work values and need special motivations at work. We used the sample of Russian youth from 18 to 30 years old to determine whether this is true. Our research is based on European values study data from 1999 to 2017. To establish the influence of age on different work values regression analysis was conducted. It was assumed that Russian youth in comparison with older population consider self-actualization values (opportunity to use initiative, ability to achieve something at work , responsible job) and working conditions (good hours, holidays) more important. Moreover, we expected that working priority values like “work is a duty to a society”, “ work always comes first” are less important for youth. The hypotheses have not been confirmed.
