Implementation of MySQL Wire Protocol in ClickHouse

Most stateful computer programs use databases to store information. To connect to a database and retrieve information from it, applications construct requests in some format, defined by database protocol. Relational databases store information as rows with columns of certain types, and typically require username and password to authenticate. Hence, the same protocol can be used by many databases. This thesis implements a server side of the widely used MySQL wire protocol in a columnar database management system ClickHouse. The produced result allows to use different MySQL wire protocol implementations, such as the command line interface program mysql, for selecting and inserting data into ClickHouse.
