Transformation of Fitness in Contemporary Society: Fitness in Urban Spaces of Saint Petersburg

In contemporary culture, fitness is one of the most popular activities оf physical activity and leisure. Fitness is a phenomenon with Americanized background, but in the modern world fitness is a global culture. Constant changes are observed both in the fitness industry and in fitness practices. The purpose of this work: to explore new keep-fit practices in St. Petersburg and compare them with the already traditional ones - keep-fit practices, which are produced in the fitness club. The main stage of the research was conducted among the participants of fitness clubs and the fitness community “Parkrun”.
