Final Grade: 10

Year of Graduation: 2019

The main goal of this graduation qualification work is the creation of the trailer for the animated series "My Student Spirit" for the further development of the project into a full-fledged web-series. To fully understand the specifics of the plot and characters, a study was conducted on the visual features of the ghost characters. The present paper describes a proposed study that will examine the correlations between human psychological issues related to death and the final image of a ghost, to construct a new meaning of a ghost in media and to find it a new role in the plot of shows. The research is conducted on the basis of the popular statement about going through the trouble, so-called “5 stages of grief”. The anticipated results are that the way individual experiences bad emotion caused by death is connected with the final look of the ghost and spirits. The main goal of the research is to find out what “classical ghost” is and find ways to manipulate the plot that contains a ghost-character, based on psychological tropes.
