Since web applications occupy a big share of server software, the immense number of attacks is targeting them. Each IT company cares about the security of their users and trying to mitigate as more attacks as possible. Some of them use special software targeted to detect and prevent intruders from performing illegitimate actions. Despite the active development of this industry, there are only a few such programs capable to maintain synchronized state. All of them are proprietary. In this work, I propose the idea of an open source highly available application firewall suited for distributed web applications.
