Animated Film "How my Grandmother become an Elephant"

Student: Domenti Paula

Supervisor: Elena Kitaeva

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Design (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

The overlapping theme of my thesis and my visual research was the study of animal motifs in interior design and graphic design. In the research I tried to focus on the historical use of animals as an element of decor and design, whereas my thesis uses animal symbolism as a metaphor, rather than simply as an aesthetic element. In my thesis I combined my personal knowledge and the information gained through visual research to create a universe in which lion paws and bird wings are a familiar element of everyday life like the metro and television. In my opinion I was successful, and I managed to create a short and touching story that combines various elements of my research, my personal ideas and my special interests.
