This work is devoted to the experience of creating social urban transmedia projects. In the theoretical note we describe the advantages of transmedia technology in general and for the social theme in particular. We point out an important point in the creation of an urban transmedia project, namely, its interaction with the media space location. The main goal of our work was the development of a transmedia project involving the audience in the preservation and protection of the architectural heritage of Yekaterinburg. This is a highly visible subject in the city and it has great potential for transmedia. We proposed the development of the project "Protecting the city E", which includes 4 extensions that are being implemented at various relevant sites of the city.
