System for Extracting Structured Information From Websites

The extraction of structured information from websites is a common and well-known problem. There are different tools and approaches that can be used to solve this issue. Many frameworks allow programmers to write code that extracts information. There are also commercial enterprises offering to do it for payment. In this paper we describe the system, developed by us, which gives to a common user without technical background an opportunity to solve this problem. The interface of the implemented system is designed in the way that allows the user to get access to all of its functionalities, performing simple actions in the browser. Another advantage of the developed architecture is its extensibility and flexibility: it allows you to integrate arbitrary user code into the system and, thus, add new ways of obtaining information from html documents.
