This research aims to identify the status of the Spanish enclaves that are located in Morocco and are therefore the topic of heated debates between these two countries. The interdisciplinary nature of this problem made it necessary to analyze the topic from historical, political and cultural perspectives. This research involved the analysis and synthesis of the previous studies of this topic which helped to establish common themes and identify the research gap. Interviewing was applied as a qualitative research method which helped to obtain the most recent data and integrate it into this study. Key topics such as the importance of historical background, the influence of international organizations and cultural distinctiveness were identified and analyzed together with the interview results. This work highlights the gravity of the chosen topic in the context of political and social studies and explains why it is vital to understand the Spanish-Moroccan dispute in regard to the enclaves.
