Role of Digital Transformation in Terms of Strategic Planning on a Pulp and Paper Enterprise

This research discloses the theme of “Role of Digital Transformation in terms of Strategic Planning on a Pulp and Paper Enterprise”. The document researches whether digital transformation influences strategic planning process and implementation of strategy. Relevance of the research is backed up by literature review – all the topics mentioned above are well-researched separately, but their combinations are not. The objective of this research is to define, structure and formalize interrelations between strategic planning and digital transformation in pulp and paper industry. To achieve the goal, several specific objectives are set: 1. Research and define phenomenon of digital transformation and value chain of pulp and paper enterprise 2. Interrelate structured strategic goals with influences of digital transformation on it 3. Evaluate input of digital transformation to achievement of strategic goals. Penetration of particular Industry 4.0 technology, such as Industrial Internet of Things can be used as an example of influence of digital transformation. For the purposes of the analysis mentioned above, a set of strategies is researched: corporate, IT and Digital, as well as their structural interrelations. What is more, influences of digital transformation is projected on the corporate objectives of different nature, such as business-goals, social and environmental goal. The result of the research is a structured heat map of interrelations between digital transformation and strategic goals, as well as formalization of the phenomenon researched.
