In the early stages of the history of the Middle East, the boundaries between the historical and ethnographic regions were determined mainly by natural frontiers. But with the formation of statehood, the process of formation of historical and ethnographic regions became more complicated, and each of them had its own path of development. Within each of these areas, the Arab ethnic group constitutes an absolute majority of the population. In addition, the so-called sub-ethnic groups make up a relatively smaller percentage of the total population in the territories of some countries. Religious, cultural, territorial and linguistic community forms their ethnic identity. In the process of interaction, all sub-ethnic groups face the phenomenon of intercultural communication. Many modern studies are devoted to this topic, but despite this, they do not provide an objectively complete understanding of how these processes took place. Thus, the purpose of this work is to expand knowledge about the processes of intercultural interaction between sub-ethnic groups in the Middle East. As part of the study, an attempt was made to analyze and highlight the main patterns of Arab culture from the point of view of various sociological studies, and also studied the cultural characteristics of individual subethnos in various countries of the Middle East and their interaction with other ethnic groups.
