This paper is devoted to the study of the concept of creativity and the creative person in the early work of V. Kaverin.

The work of V. Kaverin of the 1920s is in the nature of integrity and relative completeness, due to the fact that for a decade the writer has consistently adhered to a specific artistic program. The period ends in 1931, when V. Kaverin almost completely revises his artistic principles and turns to the traditions of realistic writing.

The main aim of the study is to determine the originality of the artistic embodiment of the theme of creativity and the creative person in the works of the writer of the 1920s.
