In the modern world technological progress is a key driver of economic growth. Technology transfer in global value chains is one of the ways to help developing countries successfully transfer modern technologies. Each country strives to increase its innovative potential, because falling behind advanced technologies is a direct threat to country's economic well-being. A few decades ago, many Asian countries were considered weak and poor economies, but due to various processes, including integration into global value chains, they managed not only increase their economic potential, but also technologically adapt to new realities and become advanced innovators in some areas. This research aims to determine the role of technology transfer in the process of integration into global value chains from the example of manufacturing innovative products in China, South Korea and India. The results of the study can be used as recommendations for the Russian Federation for its integration into global chain of values in the sphere of innovative products.
