The purpose of this study is to draw up a long-term strategic development plan for the largest Russian O&G company, as well as to study the influence exerted on it by planned industry regulatory acts. Activities within the framework of the competition development plan involve the liberalization of the gas market, including the transition to market pricing. In the empirical part of the work, the hypothesis of the positive effect of the change in the pricing mechanism on the development of the gas strategy of an oil and gas company is confirmed. It was the gas industry that was chosen for the study, due to the peculiarities of the development of competition in it, as well as its social, infrastructural and strategic importance. The novelty of the study is explained, on the one hand, by the fact that at the moment the group of fuel and energy regulators, in particular, the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service, are conducting their own analysis to create drafts of regulatory acts, and on the other hand, applying the analysis to the real data of a leading Russian company and obtaining as a result approximate recommendations on the company's development strategy.
