Business Process Modeling and Optimization in the Bank

The changing environment and high competition force large companies, especially in the banking sector, to implement a process-based approach to management, to Business Process Management and Case Management approaches and to resort to solutions that implement them - Business Process Management Suits. Currently, few companies use these information systems, especially in Russia. This paper is devoted to examining the approaches and information systems used to model and optimize business processes in commercial banks in Russia and the world and to determine the feasibility of implementing such solutions. The study analyzes the vendors on the market of Business Process Management systems, identifies the leaders and solutions used in commercial banks. Also, the product of the market leader, Pegasystems - Pega BPM 7.3.1 is considered in detail. The application on this platform is being practically implemented to model and optimize the business process of opening accounts for small businesses in a commercial bank. The results obtained analyze the benefits of implementing and using Business Process Management systems in commercial banks, highlighting the strengths of Pega BPM. The results confirm the need for primarily large and well-automated organizations mainly in the financial sector and other industries with a highly volatile market, the need to use a process management approach and modern information systems implementing it to ensure effective business in the banking sector.
