Use of Graph Database Management Systems in Developing Educational Platforms

In a dynamic and constantly changing environment, practitioners often have to solve the problem of finding effective teaching methods, developing appropriate educational platforms on their basis with the possibility of offering students an individual educational trajectory. The final qualifying paper is devoted to the topic of research of the effectiveness of relational and graph databases in the development of a platform with individual selection of the educational trajectory. The prerequisites for creating an adaptive educational platform are studied. Technological tools are considered. Theoretical and experimental study of two types of database management systems (DBMS) on the example of MS SQL and Neo4j was carried out. The possibility of using the graph database in the development of the adaptive educational platform is substantiated. A separate chapter is devoted to experimental research, a prototype system of adaptive learning has been created. The results of the study may be of interest to software developers specializing in database design, as well as representatives of the educational sphere.
