Impact of Open Government on the Quality of Governance: Comparative Analysis

Nowadays, there is a debate in the scientific field, whether in countries with more "open" public policy the quality of governance will be higher. This paper aims to resolve an existing dispute and to answer the question of the Open Government's effect on the governance efficiency. Quantitative research methods were used for the study. The sample consists of all countries of the world from 2014 to 2017. Five statistical models were constructed via structural equation modeling, which allowed to confirm most of the hypotheses about the influence of Open Government as a policy and as a broad concept in public policy on the quality of governance through various mediated variables.
