The view on the political relations between China and Vietnam from 2014 to 2018 according to the media in both countries

Thе paper is devoted to the study of the characteristics of the representation of political relations between the PRC and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the media materials of both countries. In the framework of this paper, the methodology of media content analysis is considered. The research also examines the history of the development of political relations between China and Vietnam. Based on the content analysis of the “People's Daily”, “The Global Times”, VnExpress and “VTV News” articles, we compare the ways of representing such topics as territorial conflicts in the South China Sea and the The Belt and Road Initiative. The study showed not only the dynamics of publications of Vietnamese and Chinese online articles from 2014 to 2018, but also the similarities and differences in the description of the political relations of the two countries.
