The aim of this study is to identify a variety of methods of emotional impact on the audience, which were used in the author's chosen Russian and Ukrainian adaptations of foreign television formats, in particular, reality shows. A large number of types of qualitative and quantitative analysis will be used to analyze the content of the selected formats. The methods used by the author for this study include typological analysis, structural analysis, dramatic analysis, and systematization. The method of collecting information is to work with documents. For further research and a deeper understanding of the emotional impact, we will conduct a series of in-depth interviews with the audience of television formats chosen by the author. The study includes a theoretical block in which the author relies on the literary base and the practical part, which consists of working with documents - video files, and interviewing respondents of different age and gender. The expected results should confirm the hypothesis that in modern competitive reality shows in Russia and Ukraine are actively used various provocative techniques on the part of editors and writers in order to increase the emotional involvement of the viewer in the story.
