With the development of the theory of securitization many researchers have paid quite a lot of attention to studying this phenomenon in democratic countries. The field affecting the study of authoritarian securitization seems to be poorly studied nowadays. The main goal of the research is to expand knowledge about authoritarian securitization that took place in Russia in the 21st century. The thesis dealt with the problems of applying the securitization policy by the Russian authorities for the period from 2000-2018. In the theoretical part of the work, a literature pool has been analyzed that touches upon the themes of authoritarianism, the concept of securitization and discourse analysis. In the practical part a number of cases are considered that relate directly to the use of securitization by the Russian regime in a chronological perspective and each of the electoral cycles in which this policy was applied.
