Annotation This paper examines the problem of public control over elections in modern Russia. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of public structures providing supervision over elections, but it is unclear what goals these structures pursue. The study analyzes the phenomenon of social control during presidential and parliamentarian elections. On the basis of expert interviews and surveys, an attempt was made to answer the question about the nature and degree of influence of such social structures on the quality and results of elections in Russia.
