In recent years, the online education market in Russia has been growing, including the development of distance education, especially in the form of mass open online courses. These technologies can be applied not only by educational institutions, but also by many others, for example, museums. The research is devoted to the study of MOOK in museums, their disadvantages and advantages. The study includes the description of the possibilities that the introduction of distance learning gives to the museum. The main purpose of the research is to analyze the relevance of the use of this technology in museum atmosphere, as well as the features of the implementation of the online learning platform in museums in general. The paper also discusses the main stages of the production of a mass open online course, and a business process which can help improving the production of courses and reduce costs is also built as a part of the study.
