Public Service Announcement in the PRC: the Efficiency of Functioning on the Example of Tianjin City

The final qualifying paper addresses issues related to public service announcement in the PRC. The relevance of the work is responding to the high level of significance of PSA in the life of Chinese state and society. The object of the study is public service announcement in China. The aim of the work is to study the complex state of PSA in the PRC (from the historical, legislative and practical angles) on the example of its modern functioning in Tianjin. In order to achieve the aim of the work author examined the stages of the development of public service announcement in China, investigated and analyzed the legislative base of China's PSA, identified and investigated outdoor public advertising in the city of Tianjin, and gave the evaluation of the effectiveness of public service announcement in Tianjin. The data obtained as a result of writing the work, replenish the academic and pragmatic bases of the PSA’s sphere with new information and open up new opportunities for the study of public advertising in China, both regionally and in general. Moreover, the results can be used by advertising agents to increase the effectiveness of non-commercial advertising in the People's Republic of China, and work can also serve as a starting point for the development of a new direction in the sphere of domestic social announcement.
