The research proposed below is focused on the growing role of sanctuary states and migrant influence mechanisms in modern USA. The ever growing inflow of immigrants into the United States, more specifically into such states classified as “sanctuary”, as well as the ambition to be elected/reelected, is driving Republican representatives in those states to deviate from main GOP rhetoric and ideology, to only take on a course of their own in order to attain political support. All of this is happening in the time that could be defined as an era of asymmetrical polarization in the United States. This could potentially cause a massive value disruption inside the Republican party, changing U.S. politics as we know it. The state at hand in this research is California, whereas it presents the largest sanctuary state in the country.
