Research of the Influence of Files Fragmentation on Their Recoverability

In this paper, there is a research of the influence of files fragmentation on their recoverability. Different programs that realize the recovery of fragmented files when file system metadata is lost, are considered. The study is conducted on FAT and NTFS file systems, where the possibility of opening and writing, speed, and the ability to recover highly fragmented files is checked. The software products are analyzed and the features they use are assumed.
