Futuritet as a Model of Early Curriculum Orientation (Case of Lyceum HSE)

This dissertation highlights the experience of organising and supporting the process of choosing a specialisation in future career and education in the 9th Grade of Secondary education. The scientific work was designed in the genre of a project work and case study. It focuses on the management system of the schooling in the Higher School of Economics Lyceum. It seeks to prove the author’s competence in the field of Public administration at a Master’s degree. Its title is “the Futuritet as a model of preparation for further choice of an educational direction”. As a tool for forming such qualities in students as autonomy and responsibility in making their life choices related to further education and career the author offers a number of techniques and methods developed and approved between 2018 and 2019. The first part gives an introduction into the concept of students’ preparation for making educational choices. In particular, the Russian and world experience in this field is analysed, both theory and practice. The second part of the work is devoted to the description of a model of secondary students’ autonomous choice-making, as well as management practices realised in its frame, such as elective courses and a program for further education. The effectiveness of the proposed model is assessed on the basis of sociological indices taken at the period of its approbation.
