Aygi: The Portrait of an Era

The project is dedicated to the life and work of the Russian and Chuvash poet Gennadiy Aygi (1934–2006). His poetry is famous around the world but hardly known in his country. The project consists of several parts: 1. Collected works of the poet 2. Aygi -book: large publication and study of the context and background of his work and life The main purpose of the work is rethinking Aygi’s creative path and language, defining poet’s figure in the context of unofficial Soviet art of the second half of the 20th century, as well as in the context of the world literary and artistic process.
