The Evolution of the US Approaches To the Problem of Arms Control During the Trump's Administration

The issue of strategic stability is significant nowadays. The main aim of arms control is to provide world security; however, arms are one of the primary means of global power in the international arena. Donald Trump, during his presidential term, has made several controversial decisions and withdrew from several agreements on arms control. That is why some scholars claim that the United States of America is trying to undermine the system of strategic stability. However, Donald Trump declares that the traditional system is outdated, and the new one should be developed. Moreover, he claims that the United States of America ready for the negations with the Russian Federation and China. This work will analyze the traditional system of strategic stability, and why does Donald Trump consider it outdated. Moreover, this research provides the evaluation of the US approaches to the problem of arms control and possible consequences of these approaches. Finally, this work offers the potential solutions for a peaceful world in the future.
