Southeast Asia in the Belt and Road Initiative: the Digital Component

This paper considers main aspects of digital development in the Belt and Road Initiative and contributes to the important debate on the issue of Southeast Asian ties within the said initiative. The research focuses on the number of various approaches to the BRI and crucial dimensions that are to be discussed in detail. Further, this paper examines advantages and challenges of the of Southeast Asia being a major actor in the foreign policy agenda of China. Our most important findings include versatile case studies that are to be discovered in relation to the main debate and the significance of the process of digitalization. The study advances our understanding of the issue of Southeast Asia on the Belt and Road Initiative and presents an opportunity for further research projects.
