Possible Consequences of Trade War between USA and China for International Trade System

In this paper an author analyses the statistical significance of the US-China trade war impact on the dynamics of trade flows between these two countries, and also discusses the consequences of the trade war for the global trade and world economic system. The paper presents a comprehensive view on the problem of deglobalization, provides a historical analysis of US protectionism, and analyses the reaction of global financial markets to trade war news. The econometric analysis was based on the modified event study method. At the end of the paper, the author analyses in detail the consequences of the US - China trade war for Russia and other countries affected by this trade conflict.
