International Legal Immunities and Privileges of Consular Officers

This graduate qualification work is devoted to the consideration of international legal immunities and privileges of consular officers. The work consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to a detailed description of the formation of the institute of consuls and their immunities and privileges from antiquity to the present days. The second chapter reviews the main theories of the rationale for granting consular officers the immunities and privileges of their content and provides a general description of the main ones. The third chapter is devoted to the study of the basic immunities and privileges of consular officers and honorary consular officers, as well as to the identification of the main problems arising from the implementation of this institution.
