This research work is devoted to the study of the order and features of the stage of initiation of proceeding in courts of general jurisdiction. The aim of this work is a detailed study of the procedure for filing a lawsuit in a court of general jurisdiction, identifying gaps in the legislation governing this stage of civil proceedings, and developing proposals and recommendations for addressing these problems by proposing legislative changes. The subject of the study consists of the norms of the civil procedural legislation of the Russian Federation, their interpretation, as well as theoretical studies of the procedure for initiating legal proceedings and the features of special and order proceedings in courts of general jurisdiction and its results, obtained by examples of judicial practice. In the process of work, legislative problems and conflicts in the civil procedure legislation at the stage of initiating proceedings were identified, and possible solutions were proposed.
