This study focuses on the Agreement for the Provision of Competent Legal Assistance by the Lawyer. The purpose of the study is to form a comprehensive understanding of the Agreement as a legal phenomenon, including defining the problems in its functioning and finding the ways to improve it. To achieve this purpose, the author defines the legal nature of the Agreement, highlights the features of the modern legal model of the attorneys's obligations to provide qualified legal assistance, defines the substantial terms of the Agreement and considers issues regarding the liability of the parties to the Agreement. As a result, the author insists on necessity to qualify the Agreement for the Provision of Competent Legal Assistance by the Lawyer as a new type of civil contract and offers several other point changes aimed at improving legislation in this sphere.
