The Current State and Problems of Armaments Cooperation between Russia and Countries of the Middle East and North Africa

This study is devoted to describing the current state of armament cooperation of the Russian Federation with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, as well as highlighting its main trends. The study examined cases of armament cooperation with the countries in the region within 2011-2019. As a result of the analysis of the collected data, the author gives the prospects for the development of armament cooperation with Arab countries in the short, medium and long-term periods, as well as the recommendations for the possible improvement of the armament cooperation system with the foreign countries. In addition, the study offers a normative integral approach to understanding armament cooperation, arguing for the need to balance commercial interests and strategic vision.
