The current research analyzes producing of travel TV channels in Russia based on two channels: "Poehali!" and "Moya Planeta". In this study we considered such terms as "producing", "TV channel" and "travel formats". In addition, we studied different approaches of producing travel channels in Russia. The approaches can be roughly divided into: organization of employees' activities and organization of workflow. The primary method is expert interviews. The responses by representatives of the majority of Russian travel TV channels helped to understand why the channels use specific producing approaches. The study compares two channels: "Poehali!" and "Moya Planeta", and their approaches to producing. Comparative analysis showed that these media may use some radically different approaches. However, it affects the activities of both channels positively. We figured that out by the method of work with documents and analyzing the content of TV channels' data on air. Our results prove the hypothesis that producing travel TV channels varies in its approaches to programming, promotion and channel design. In summary, being successful in producing a travel channel requires taking into account the nuances of travel-related topics in the television media.
