One of the most interesting examples of a state that urges the world community to solve global environmental problems is France. However, a number of changes in the field of ecology remain unrealized due to the crises in the country. Thus, this research has attributed difficulties in the effective implementation of the country's environmental policy with the presence of certain internal problems. This study aims at estimating the likelihood of declared environmental transformation and at identifying prospects for its development in the context of the European Union's common environmental policy using qualitative methods of research. Therefore, we will use the retrospective and historical-genetic methods to explain the current environmental policy emphasis. Following the premises of this research, we estimate that ambitious environmental initiatives proposed by Paris in the international arena might be rethought in accordance with the foreign policy course.
