The current work is being carried out within the framework of creating a laboratory facility at the Shubnikov Institute of Crystallography of Federal Scientific Research Centre “Crystallography and Photonics” of Russian Academy of Sciences. In the future, it will allow non-destructive method to study the internal structure of the object of study with an accuracy of 1 micron. The paper considers the issue of computed tomography. The history of computed tomography is briefly told, which of the scientists became the founder of the method, and who created the first scanners. A brief review of the literature on the topic is provided. The device of the tomograph, components and algorithm of action are described. The experiment is described below. It describes which sample was taken for research and the specified parameters. Then the calculations based on the received data are presented.
