Cybersport is young and promising area of entertaining and competitive activities. Its popularity grows every year what makes it possible to become brand-new electronic “sport” among traditional sport disciplines. However, cybersport remains unstudied up to the present yet progressive over time. The key purpose of the research is to identify factors of player’s success within emerging new cybersport league called Overwatch League. The data contains information about Overwatch League players in the period of 2018-2019. Multiple regression models were estimated depending on number of players: all players and only those with the same gameplay goal (dps and tank roles). Quantile regression was chosen as the best model for evaluating factors of player’s success. As a result, cybersport players from South Korea have more chances of promotion in the Overwatch league and team-based tactics seem to be more advantageous for all league players.
