This research suggests the possibility of using transmedia mechanisms and gamification strategies in the production of popular science projects. Studying the current state of scientific discussion at the intersection of thematic fields showed that there was no study that would have analyzed the use of these technologies for the purposes of popularization of science. This study contains an overview of the existing models of transmedia projects, investigates the achievements of various papers studying the use of transmedia technologies and gamification for educational purposes, the usage of the educational potential of video games. Afterwards there is offered a theoretical algorithm for creating an educational science fiction transmedia project. In addition, in order to demonstrate the usage of the developed concept, strategic framework is applied to the «Interstellar» project, and a concept-document proposes possible popular-science expansions for it.
