In the modern world, a significant part of companies’ activities is associated with intellectual capital. This is particularly the case for the banking industry. The present study is aimed to determine the impact of intellectual capital on the performance of Russian banks. The sample of Russian banks over the period from 2012 to 2015 will be used in the study. The work will highlight three components of intellectual capital: human, structural, and relational capital. The principal component analysis will be applied to reduce the dimensionality of the data and to avoid the loss of significant information. In order to establish a connection between the components of intellectual capital and banks performance, a regression model with fixed effects will be used. Thus, the current study will contribute to show the role of intellectual capital for the performance of Russian banks.
