Nowadays, the English word stock is rich in tourism terms because of the earlier development of the industry. Thus, Russian language tends to borrow lots of terms from the English language, as Russian lacks in the words to describe the notions of the tourism industry. Currently, an increasing number of borrowings are observed in Russian, which contributes to intercultural communication. In this context, a question arises, how we translate all the new notions into the Russian language. The paper is aimed at specification of the current state of borrowings, and analyzing the ways of their translation. Both qualitative and quantitative methods have been combined in the paper: the research data have been obtained through a tourism dictionary and the glossaries (TEZ TOUR, L-TOUR, etc.), and then, analyzed in terms of their translation. The results of the research make contributions to the analysis of the Russian tourism terminology and show that English tourism borrowings play a significant role in the Russian language. Keywords: term, tourism industry, borrowing, methods of translation.
