Nowadays the Russian academic community is interested in the Soviet period. The USSR collapsed almost 30 years ago, so it gives a greater opportunity for objectivity in drawing conclusions. The relevance of our project lies in the fact that this is the first large-scale fashion analysis for the entire period of the state’s existence (1922-1991), in contrast to existing studies, that cover only a single time period, such as “thaw” or “perestroika”. However, the scope of the project was based on the women’s urban dress and costumes, since the territory of the Soviet space is huge, and the population can be divided into many layers. The novelty of the project is that the analysis of the influence of Western trends on the Soviet fashion has been performed because the Soviet costume is often explored as an independent phenomenon. The research project has been presented in a creative format with a large analytical base. The main value is spread of a thin layer in articles published on the website, but not the website itself. The text of the study can exist in an academic format without the shell of a website. However, the reason for the creative format is the informative and cultural project objective, because a website with short articles will enlighten the audience faster than a large academic project in the public domain.
