Student: Korotaeva Olga

Supervisor: Olga Dovbysh

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Media Communications (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2020

During the last 10 years, the interest to Russian regional films has risen due to the increase in their quantity, as well as to the fact that they have received multiple awards at international film festivals. However, very little empirical research has been conducted to find out how these films are being produced and distributed. The main purpose of this study is, therefore, to investigate the sources of funding and mechanisms of creation and distribution of Russian regional films. Case study and expert interviews were used as the main research methods. We assume that the data that was collected and systematized in the study will be useful for the following researches on regional cinema.
