Analysis of Using IoT Technologies in a Hotel Industry

This thesis is devoted to the relevant topic of the implementation of Internet of things technologies for hotel enterprises. The purpose of this work is to identify the necessary IoT technologies based on customer needs by applying Interaction design methods. The first chapter of the paper identifies trends in the development of the hotel industry, provides examples of the use of Internet of things technologies in hotels, describes the discipline of Interaction design, as well as related areas, and determines the importance of the design stage of the product creation process. The second chapter analyzes existing solutions and methods of Interaction design, describes cases of their application for defining IoT technologies and creating the software. A separate chapter describes the process of applying the methods of the Goal-Directed Design approach to Interaction design; the necessary IoT technologies for indoor positioning are identified, analyzed, and opportunities of using the selected technologies for various business purposes are offered. A possible layout of the module for indoor navigation in the IoT mobile application for hotel service consumers has been developed. This paper is of interest to hotel enterprises and researchers involved in Interaction design.
