Russia and Belarus have been strategic partners of each other for a long time. Despite the great experience of alliance, the trade and economic relations of these countries are subject to significant influence of external factors, such as changes in the global political situation, economic crises, as well as trade conflicts, which can change the nature of the partnership between Russia and Belarus in the coming years. In this paper, the past experience of trade and economic relations of these countries and the dynamics of joint trade in the last decade will be considered in order to determine the main prospects for the development of cooperation between Russia and Belarus.
