Technological Development of Russia: The Role of Business

The aim of the research was the study of technological development of business sector in Russia. Patent analysis was used to understand the role of business in technological development of Russia. The data of 114 222 Russian patent applications from 2013 to 2017 were analyzed. Patents applications were reviewed in several dimensions: sectors of economies, technological fields and annual dynamics of patent applications. The average impact of the business sector was 14% during the chosen period.Top-3 technological fields of business sector were Measurement, Civil Engineering and Pharmaceuticals. In order to increase the participation of the business sector the list of recommendations was advised.
