In this study, the question of the presence or absence of the influence of external factors on the wage policy of NHL clubs (principles of forming the size of salaries of hockey players) is addressed. Before analyzing the data, a large stage of data collection from the Internet was passed, the creation of a single consolidated database for more convenient use during the study. Also, a literature review was done before the analysis, and, it should be noted, this topic is very little studied. The main part of the work is a regression analysis through LSM of data on both the salaries of NHL players and the economic and demographic indicators of the regions of the USA and Canada, where NHL clubs are based. A similar study of this issue in the Continental Hockey League is also given, but due to the lack of data it is extremely difficult to draw concrete conclusions on the KHL. As a result of the study, the degree of influence of external factors that are mentioned in the study on the wage policy of NHL clubs was determined, as well as the reasons for this degree of influence were identified.
