At the beginning of the 20th century, a large Jewish diaspora lived in Iraq. Jews were playing a significant role in the country's politics and economy. The community members were at the origin of the banking sector and the country's railway network. The first king of Iraq, Faisal I, patronized them. However, in less than a quarter of century, the status of the Jews has changed dramatically. From a once prosperous community, they turned into an oppressed minority, which was forced to flee the country. In the middle of the 20th century, the press already played a crucial role in determining the mood of the broad masses. In post-war Iraq, a large number of periodicals of various political orientations were published, but almost all of them were united in one thing — a dismissive, and sometimes completely sharply negative attitude towards Jews. This study focus on the analysis of the image of the Jews in the Iraqi press.
