Use of Technologies 4.0 in the Agricultural Sector of Italy

Digital technologies are developing rapidly and are becoming more advanced and deep. In Italy, major technological changes are taking place, featuring a highly productive agricultural sector. However, sustainable development is only possible when deciding on more productive production systems. Digital technology is becoming a decisive factor on this path. The purpose of this study is to assess the implementation of 4.0 technologies in the agricultural sector to increase the sustainability and competitiveness of the Italian economy. It was revealed not only the degree of influence of innovations on the agri-food systems that Italy faces problems, but also the need to develop recommendations taking into account the international experience of developed countries of the European Union.
