Al-Himyari and al-Idrisi, living in the Middle Ages, wrote treatises about geographical places, which were familiar to them. The works are very different structurally, lexically and from the historical and geographical points of view. This study aims at finding out, what are the main similarities and differences in description of MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries by both authors. The results of the paper will show the development of history and geography at the Middle Ages and prove the necessity of paying more attention to the treatises.
